Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several tree species from the genus Cinnamomum. Cinnamon is used mainly as an aromatic condiment and flavouring additive in a wide variety of cuisines, sweet and savoury dishes, breakfast cereals, snack foods, bagels, teas, hot chocolate and traditional foods

It is used to flavour curry on the Indian subcontinent, savoury chicken and lamb dishes in the Middle East, and chocolate and yams in Mexico. In the West it is popular in baked goods like cinnamon rolls and cookies, or with apples and pears in hearty pies & crumbles

Famous by the name of wonder spice, cinnamon enhances the flavor of recipes and is also beneficial for health. Obtained from the tree bark, this spice is available in stick and powder form. Cinnamon is known as Twak in sanskrit and Dalchini in Hindi.
